This week seems less productive on paper than it seemed when I was going through it. I think that’s due to the 2 huge projects I had due for my final grades in my classes this term. Education is draining, but then again so is pleasing any client.

  • Codevember day 30: juggling loader animation – (my site) (CodePen)
  • Finally finished my classes this term. Oh. My. God. I really disliked one of them (which is half my load) and its such a relief to be done with that class (and to have gotten a decent grade).
  • Got all my books and materials in order for my next two classes: operating systems and project management. It’s like my entire emotional spectrum in one term! Also: education is almost all repetition.
  • Downloaded the newest version of Microsoft Project for my class. From a user experience standpoint, I have no idea where to start. More on this later probably.
  • Started (late) on the winterization of our house by checking on the pumphouse. Turns out some creature has burrowed under the wall and for some reason the only plug in the pumphouse isn’t working. Ugh. Not looking forward to this.
  • We put up our Christmas tree. Well, to be fair, we took our Christmas tree out of the corner where it’s been all year and replaced the lights. Don’t judge us.
  • I made some fixes to my Codevember day 29 entry thanks to the excellent suggestions from a fellow Codepenner, @joshbivens. This is now my most viewed and most hearted pen! Yay! I think it’s due to the fact it’s a great design, but unfortunately it’s not MY design. So my goal for December is to make things from my own head. This…is difficult. Wish me luck! (I’m thinking another loader would be a good start…)
  • Caught up on two weeks of Agents of SHIELD. Well, I wanted them to finally do something with Ward, but…that’s not what I was expecting. I’m not sure what I’m expecting anymore, but that wasn’t it. Also: I’m sick of the Simmons/Fitz bullshit. Just rip off the bandaid and leave it alone. Let it heal damnit. Ahem.
  • Made some more tweaks to my website. Fixed the logo not taking you to the homepage (whoops), moved some stuff around in the footer, added my social networks (whoops again), made featured images more awesome by giving them some faux parallax, and thinking about how to better display my about me page. I’ve been inspired by Chris Coyier and Aaron Draplin and their amazing historical pages. (Oh and I made a child theme from the excellent Yuuta theme I’m using.)
  • Setup a new household budget. Even though budgeting when you have no money is fucking stupid. Adulting.
  • Setup my first project at Behance. I was slightly annoyed with an aspect of the user experience over there, so I wrote a little thing about it here.
  • Added a favicon to my site. To be honest, I hate it and I’ll be changing it. I like the design (it needs some tweaks I think) but at the small size it loses so much. But it was needed so…yeah. Whatevers. // TODO: Fix this shit.
  • Made some changes/fixes to my day 28 Codevember entry. Thanks to the heads up from my good friend Alex, whose game I seriously need to check out but money…you know how that goes people.
